Qualifier 5 sees us venture into Scotland for the first time as we take in all the beauties that Cardrona Golf & Country Club has to offer.
Cardrona is an all-encompassing golf resort, complete with stunning natural scenery. Found in the picturesque Scottish countryside, the course is set upon the rolling hills of the Borders, alongside the River Tweed. Designed by former Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas in 2001, the Par 72 parkland and woodland course features wide and undulating USGA greens and poses a difficult test to our golfers.
Cardrona Golf Course provides a lot of power from the tee with its 7000 yard back tee layout. Longer hitters will still require some accuracy from the tees, with the River Tweed coming into play on several holes, penalising wayward drives. The variety of tee boxes means players of all abilities can enjoy this course, choosing its length and helping make Cardrona a perfect fit for anyone looking at golf in Scotland.
Cardrona is easily accessible from both Edinburgh (20 miles) & Glasgow (60miles) and is an exciting addition to this year's schedule. The hotel itself offers guests luxury modern accommodation enhanced further by the impressive facilities (two bars, pool, and spa etc.)
Signature Holes
Although it can be argued that the 6th hole on the Cardrona Championship Course is the members favourite, the 7th is certainly the signature. A 402-yard par-4 requires power yet accuracy off the tee to avoid the various hazards which may be a detriment to your score, with bunkers, trees, long rough and bumpy lies all playing a part. The green of the 7th is equally as difficult as the tee shot and approach requiring your best putting stroke as its highly undulating and can be deadly difficult in the summer when the ground is firmer.
