Specialists In Social Golf Events, Tournaments & Weekends. Born in 2021, we are changing the game when it comes to Golf events, going above and beyond your expectations to deliver more than just a day on the fairways. We've mixed all the best parts of golf together to bring a modern, sociable & competitive environment to all our events! We endeavour to offer something different to the norm and hope to welcome many more golfers in the year ahead. 🏌️
Our Story
We are two friends who set out with a simple idea of hosting golf events where all our friends had an invite. Our initial events were so well received that our group size increased as word spread about S.G amongst friendship groups. We are now in the fortunate position whereby everyone who enjoys golf has an invite to all our events. Over the last 2 years we have developed a really strong golfing community at Springfield and despite our expansion plans and growth in 2023, we are staying true to our core values and hope to build on the foundations that have brought us such success.

Who Are We?
Ollie Blackburn & James West
Ollie and James are the joint founders of Springfield Golf. Two happy chappys from the North of England (Cumbria and Stoke-on-Trent respectively), living in London. We met at the University of Liverpool back in 2015 studying business and became friends as quick as a wink.
As novices to the game until our early twenties, we quickly developed a love affair with the greatest game on earth and are both working towards single figure handicaps in 2023. We both share the same passion and thrill for golf which remains the foundation of our budding friendship. If only good friends made good business partners....
We both currently have handicaps of 16 although the recent Youtube video leaves a lot to be desired (on James' part mainly 😂)
Timeline
2020
S.G. was born!
Whilst sat on the 19 th hole at Coulsdon Manor GC in late August sunshine, a pint of Guinness
in both our hands, we had the incredible realisation that ‘Golf is bloody good isn’t it’. In fact, we realised the only thing better than golf, is golf with all your buddies. After a few more Guinnesses, we started to compile a list of absolutely everyone we knew that had ever swung a club, and decided we were going to host a weekend event the following summer.
Like any good couple, we set a date, sent out the RSVP’s and counted down the days until all
our plans were realised.
2021
We hosted our first events!
Our first ever event was held where the idea was born – Coulsdon Manor Golf Club.
Although the standard of courses we play at now may have improved, we will always
remember Coulsdon Manor as the home of S.G. We hosted 50 of our mates for a weekend
in South London, whereby S.G. legend Will Hicks held some magic putts in the most dramatic 3 hole play-off you’re likely to see. Watch it here! (Apologies in advance for the far from perfect footage but we couldn't let this go amiss)
The Coulsdon event was a huge success, and our guests eagerly encouraged us to announce
another date that year. We did better than that, and quickly booked an additional two
events for 2021, increasing our group size for both.
2022
We went international!
We started 2022 much like we ended 2021 and booked in a variety of different events
across the country. Across all the events we hosted, we had the pleasure of hosting close to
200 different golfers and at variety of venues. As you are all likely aware, the British summer
is often short and unpredictable, and with that on our mind we decided to take S.G.
international and booked a 4-day event in Portugal for our keenest members.

2023 & Onwards
The Road to the Belfry Announced!
Our first few years have been an absolute whirlwind & the next few are sure to be the same as we scale the business to a nationwide level. Rest assured we will continue to deliver events that go above and beyond expectation. As such, we have decided to do something a little different for 2023 and the years going forward.
This year we have partnered with YourGolfTravel to bring the most exciting amateur golf tournament on the market. There are 5 individual qualifier events, all of which are 2-day events whereby the top 6 golfers from each event (+ two lucky losers) will go through to play the finale at The Belfry in August, with the winner of that receiving a hefty £3,500! If you are fortunate enough to proceed past the qualifiers, your place at The Belfry will be FREE of charge!
We are already discussing plans for a full 2024 schedule, bringing you many more opportunities to showcase your golfing abilities and enjoy time away from work.
