Order of Merit (OoM)
For the 2025 season, we are introducing the S.G. Order of Merit (OoM) which will run alongside the traditional ‘Top 5’ as an alternative pathway to the Springfield Golf finale at Beau Desert.
This means players can secure their place in our season-ending finale in two ways:
- Top 5 Finish at a Qualifier: Players who finish in the top 5 at any official qualifying event automatically qualify for the final.
- Order of Merit Points: Players who consistently perform well across the season can accumulate points to earn one of the limited spots reserved for the Order of Merit standings. This system rewards consistency and top performances in various categories, giving more players a chance to shine.

▪️ How Does It Work?
The OoM runs throughout the entirety of our ‘Road To Beau Desert’ series. Our 8 qualifiers events across the country give you the opportunity to earn OoM points based on your finishing position and other performance based stats (full breakdown below). The more points you earn at each event will advance you up the overall leaderboard! As an Order of Merit, one bad finish does not automatically spell disaster, and there is plenty of opportunity to improve your standings throughout the year.
▪️ How Are Points Awarded?
There are a number of ways in which points are distributed, all contributing to the overall OOM standings, whereby the top 4 point scorers across the series will earn themselves a spot at our grand final at Beau Desert.
Players will be able to earn OoM points throughout the full 2025 ‘Road to Beau Desert’ series.
Anyone who competes in the series will be awarded baseline participation points. Yes you get points just for turning up.
All 8 qualifier events are weighted equally, with no event carrying more points than another.
The OoM will be updated after each event, and the Top 4 players (providing they have not already qualified via a Top 5 finish) over the course of the season will earn a place at Beau Desert for our finale.
Players can earn points a variety of ways. From their overall finishing position, to points for ‘Best Dressed’, there are many ways to accumulate points. Full details of the points are below.

*Players who finish in the Top 5 earn automatic qualification to the final, therefore OoM points are not necessary.*

▪️ Why Participate?
The new Order of Merit system ensures that every round has significance. Whether you're gunning for a top-five finish or working to accumulate points throughout the season, you can now enjoy more chances to qualify. This system rewards not just single-event success, but consistent performance across a variety of categories.
▪️ Points example
Every player, regardless of finishing position, earns 20 points for participating. This ensures players who attend regularly are rewarded for their involvement across the season. For context, if a player entered all 8 qualifiers, and finished 51st+ at each one they would still receive 20 x 8 = 160 OoM points for the season.
If a player finished in 8th position overall but was the overnight leader after day 1 they would earn 105 Oom points across the weekend. 80 for finishing 8th and an additional 25 points for topping day 1.

To be eligible for the Order of Merit (OOM), you must enter one of our 8 qualifier events in the series.
